If you long to understand how God dynamically works in the lives of people like you and me, ‘Following God’ will be food for your soul.’’ ---John MacArthur
Where are you in your search for God’s Will? Have you ever asked yourself if you really have surrendered your life to Jesus as Lord and yielded yourself to Him? Are you willing to do God’s will in this situation no matter what it is?
Are you willing to do something that is beneath you? Does the idea of following God’s will, instead of just finding it, meet you where you are?
Christianity is more than a religion, it is a relationship with the Living God. God’s will is a journey that we will continue until He returns or calls us home. That journey will be walked by faith, not sight. But since He is spirit and we are flesh, that relationship must be lived by the faith principle. Without faith it is impossible to please Him.
As you seek to discern God’s will you will find yourself at a fork in the road. One direction is God’s way, the other is your own. They may not always look like different destinations---sometimes the destinations are the same---but the length of the trip and the means of getting there are different. You’ll never find God’s will on the road to your own way.
We grapple with God’s will because, first of all, we believe He knows what is best. But deeper than that, in our heart of hearts we don’t want to suffer the consequences of making a wrong decisions, so we want God to make the decision for us. He doesn’t always do that as neatly as we like, but He does lead us.
